OVERVIEW We are seeking a Technical Business Data Analyst to join a team that is accelerating the expansion of our business intelligence and analysis platform. This platform manages all facets of natural gas production through transportation to a sales point. The business analyst will achieve deep knowledge about the data underlying the fabric of data interactions involved in these business processes. The analyst will be a vital link between business units and the technology team. Candidates must sit or relocate to Birmingham, AL POSITION SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Vice President of Business Intelligence and Analytics, this role will guide the business through the development of requirements, research the data underpinnings to further refine those requirements, and communicate to the development team. Special focus will be placed on bull Advising the client regarding best practices for robust and resilient design of data usage patterns bull Providing value through self-directed research to understand business processes and data interactions related to the requirements bull Staging data in Snowflake repository bull Coordinating with developers ensuring data is staged and available for report development bull Serving as the first line of quality assurance to aggressively validate and debug developed programs and reports bull Meeting deadlines, creative problem solving and clear expectation setting with clients POSITION REQUIREMENTS bull Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience bull 5+ years of experience in a related field bull Work independently bull Prototype reports for maximum usability bull Create data models and understand entity-relationship diagrams bull Bridge communication between the business unit and development team bull Database experience (5 years' experience in 2 of 4 systems) o Snowflake experience o MS SQL o Oracle experience o SSAS (Analysis Server) experience bull Data warehouse design bull MS Power BI Development or design experience bull Data conversion and migration experience EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
