    Responsibilities:

    This position provides critical support to the Corporate Travel department via reporting and analysis. The position performs advanced Microsoft Excel functions, complex data analysis and reconciles financial data on a timely basis. Position presents findings and supporting financial information to Corporate Travel management; prepares appropriate commentary or explanations relating to issues/information of particular interest; and uses judgment to determine which issues/information warrant closer attention during review. Periodically updates travel approval hierarchical structures based on organizational changes. Prepares quarterly and monthly reporting relating to travel policy exceptions. Will participate in ad-hoc projects pertaining to travel reporting and travel risk management initiatives. Other areas of responsibility include American Express program administration. Will be expected to work closely with travel management company/travel risk management vendor personnel on varying initiatives, projects and production issues.

     

    This position requires:


    Routine and non-routine financial analysis of varying complexity to support senior management decision making.
    Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills with understanding of travel data and experience with travel and expense accounting practices.
    Possess strong "root cause" identification capabilities
    Ability to balance several deliverables and shifting priorities as needed.
    Extreme attention to detail, adjusting analysis in a changing environment accompanied by excellent organization skills.
    Ability to consume and digest large data sets, identify patterns/trends and present high-level summary of that data (and related findings) to management.
    Ability to identify innovative solutions.
    Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and relevance of data and reporting provided to management
    Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; confidence to interact with all organizational levels, up to and including senior management.
    Independent work style needing guidance in only complex situations.
    May be required to serve as Corporate Travel finance subject matter expert during system/process implementations.
    Collaboration with Risk Management department on interdepartmental initiatives and projects.
    Highly motivated self-starter


    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Management preferred or equivalent experience.
    Advanced degree (MBA) or Professional certification (CPA) preferred.
    3+ years related experience
    Corporate Travel industry experience preferred.
    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred
    Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    Demonstrated project management skills, ability to multi-task.
    Ability to work in a dynamic, non-routine environment.
    Moderate Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills.
