            The Product Director is a key role that is accountable for increasing value, creating efficiencies, and enhancing quality for their respective product group in alignment with the GSK's overall R&D strategy across different lines and departments. The Product Director will manage a driven DevOps team and will be champion Agile ways of working.

            As Site Engagement and Trial Ops Product Director, you will address the business needs of the Clinical Operations business area, as well as any business function at GSK that is planning work that engages investigator sites or has management oversight of starting and conducting clinical trials globally.

            Technology aligned to this area will cover the breadth of experiences an investigator site has in participating in GSK trials. There may also be touchpoints into the Medical Affairs area when investigators are also engaged as KOLs and ultimately with commercial as they prescribe GSK products. 

            Operationally, we require streamlined, simplified processes and systems to make planning, starting, and conducting trials with reduced cycle times and higher feasibility a normal way of working for GSK, using the most informative data sources to pinpoint and manage our risks. This role empowers that with technology in strong partnership with business leaders.

            This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

            • Strategy: Accountable for developing and executing 3-year product roadmaps for all products within the product group, in alignment with the R&D strategy and R&D stakeholders. The product roadmaps will be built with a clear focus on value delivery to the R&D strategy and will prioritize investments based on value.
            • Product management: Accountable for managing the product backlog and prioritizing all Tech services within their respective product domain, ensuring continuous feedback from business customers and end users. Partner with central Tech platform teams to re-use platform tools within R&D as far as possible.
            • Governance: Establish and lead Business Governance bodies, provide oversight and establish business value, manage overall delivery and service performance and manage business risk. Prepare investments in support of the product roadmap for Technology Review Board governance.
            • Business Process: Design the optimal set of products and services that meets the business strategy and requirements.
            • Quality, Risk & Compliance: Accountable for ensuring all products supporting the business are compliant with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements, and that R&D Tech continuity plans are in place for all business-critical products.
            • Service Management: Accountable for ensuring the right services levels are in place and maintained in line with business need and the appropriate responses made to Voice of the Process (VOP) and Voice of the Customer (VOC). As products mature ensure an effective hand-over to the Established Products group.
            • Process Improvement: Accountable for driving ongoing product and business process improvements, adopting a mixture of waterfall, hybrid and agile methodologies as appropriate.
            • Change & Release management: Manage change activity, including Software-as-a-Service delivered change, into the production service in a compliant and efficient manner.
            • Integrations: In collaboration with Solution Architecture, ensure that data integrations are efficient, accurate and secure. This also includes building reporting capabilities that support both operational reporting as well as analytic reporting.
            • People Management: Accountable for line managing of the persistent team supporting the product group and ensuring ongoing succession planning to maintain business, through a mixture of GSK employees, augmented/contingent workers and strategic suppliers.

            Basic Qualifications:

            We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

            • Bachelor's Degree - Science, Engineering, Computing or a similar discipline
            • 10+ years relevant (e.g. R&D, Commercial, Corporate, GMS) experience and / or exposure to product management in a major global IT organization.
            • Track record in successful IT strategy development, solution design, program and project delivery and service management, across multiple business lines.
            • Track record in delivering business impact through process and IT enabled solutions, across multiple business lines.
            • Experience of Agile and DevOps
            • Experience of vendor management
            • Deep content knowledge of specific domain.

            Preferred Qualifications:

            If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

            • Masters or PhD - Science, Engineering, Computing or a similar discipline
