The Communications & Engagement Specialist is responsible for the execution of strategies to deliver branded business and team member engagement communications for our David's teams. This role will foster increased team member engagement and collaboration, as well as drive knowledge and understanding of the store's operational goals, company strategic imperatives and key business metrics. This role will deliver quality, streamlined, and robust communications through content planning, collaboration with cross-functional partners and an integrated approach to communication of the business needs aligning to key priorities throughout the year. This role will manage and maintain our SharePoint or other intranet communications platform to promote team member connectivity and two-way dialogue and improve the overall team member experience.
Principal Functions and Responsibilities:
Write, design and deliver effective and engaging business communications for the store field, home office and leadership teams.
Maintain brand standards for all communications in partnership with L&D/Marketing/Creative department. Infuse brand voice and aesthetic into communications which drive engagement of team members across David's.
Serve as cross-functional communications liaison with store leaders and key home office partners by providing consultation on the best way to deliver messaging
Serve as "editor-in-chief" of intranet platform for departmental pages, homepage, and discussions/surveys.
Oversee and implement content mapping to proactively plan seasonal communications, initiatives and events, through an integrated calendar for a holistic point of view on messaging and actions to stores/field/home office audiences.
Support/co-lead communications for merchandise, L&D and call center management designed to keep the team member and customer experience top of mind.
Lead the field and home office social communication channels by serving as group moderator for brand initiatives/programs on Yammer or other social platforms
Education:Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or equivalent experience.
Years of Related Experience:
2 to 4 years' experience working in a matrix and/or multi-unit organization with multiple key stakeholders
Must have experience working with, building rapport and assisting executive-level stakeholders
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal, writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Excellent PowerPoint skills a must.
Strong ability to organize material, distill complex ideas, and write lively and appealing content in a variety of 'voices'.
Ability to work cross functionally and can effectively influence, gain alignment, problem-solve and collaborate.
Strong ability to deliver and provide excellent customer service at every level of the organization
Ability to communicate promptly and accurately via computer, telephone or similar device with or without assistive technology
Ability to perform sedentary work
Ability to travel by car, rail or air
