Proposal Writer

Overview of Position

The Proposal Writer is responsible for coordinating the procurement response process, writing and editing RFP and RFI responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Quote (RFQ), Request for Bid (RFB), and unsolicited proposal for assigned solution areas.
 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Analyze customer requests for proposals and information. Review and interpret key proposal requirements and identify issues or concerns that need resolution before the submission of response
• Actively participate in strategic planning and customer needs assessment for each proposal
• Write, research, edit, and coordinate proposal responses and additional information responses
• Work with senior management, departmental experts, sales/marketing staff, and proposal manager to implement edits and complete these requests
• Confirm that all production materials meet specifications outlined in RFP
• Maintain accurate information in company database/CRM management software

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Must have at least 5 years of proposal writing experience
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in English, Philosophy, History, or Communications Preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Healthcare industry experience or PBM experience required
• Outstanding writing, editing, and interviewing skills
• Understanding of proposal/project/management responsibility and follow through with objectives to meet all crucial deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work well under extreme pressure
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office / Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

•  Experience in a high-volume Proposal Center environment is a plus
•  Experience with Visio and Microsoft Project is a plus

How much should I expect to travel?

Post COVID this position will require up to 25% overnight travel.  Employees in roles that require travel will need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit for reimbursement
