Job Summary:
This full-time Catering Sales Manager - Los Angeles position is "the face" of both internal and external catering. This person is responsible for growing outbound sales by developing and implementing creative strategies to build new business and increase guest retention in the Los Angeles region.
As the Catering Sales Manager - Los Angeles you are responsible for exemplifying the company culture as well as:
● Building, driving and managing all outbound catering business.
○ Researching and building relationships with new guests/clients through cold and warm leads
○ Developing standing orders
○ Building business/corporate partnerships
○ Developing and implementing promotional strategies
● Managing the outbound catering/large party services strategy for the company
○ Coordinating with restaurant teams to allocate and service catering orders
○ Troubleshooting and resolving guest issues on outbound or large scale catering business in partnership with Executive Chefs.
○ Generating new catering business at existing and newly opened restaurants
○ Developing an annual restaurant marketing calendar that identifies location activity and promotional initiatives while coordinating with others to ensure target deadlines are met.
○ Co-developing and managing the utilization of marketing collateral to grow and build the Tender Greens catering brand.
○ Working directly with the Director of Marketing to develop annual fiscal forecasts, maintain performance statistics and prepare reports and analyses for management to review.
● Meeting projected sales quotas as determined by management
● Developing positive working relationships with existing and new guests/clients for repeat business
● Managing client inquiries on large catering opportunities in an accurate and timely manner
● Partnering with restaurant management to ensure guest satisfaction
● Capturing events for social media as appropriate in partnership with Social Media Manager
● Drafting, negotiating and finalizing catering contracts.
● Building a strong, organized, accessible database for client management, relationship tracking and analytics over time.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and experience;
● A proven, large and active network of client business concentrated in the Los Angeles area spanning Downtown, Pasadena, San Fernando Valley, Hollywood, West LA, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, and El Segundo.
● Exemplary sales acumen, experience, and strong communication skills, verbal and written
● Bachelor's degree or specifically related associate's degree with equivalent sales, hospitality or restaurant experience.
● Ability to work successfully with a variety of vendors, guests, and key partners
● Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
● Strong, positive interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills
● Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
● Extremely proficient in MS Office Suite, POS/Ordering platforms and other software as required
● Outstanding attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
● Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity
● Strong sense of ownership; ability to set & achieve goals; multitask to meet deadlines
● Knowledge of Third Party Delivery Vendors,, and Food Safety preferred
Abilities include:
● Lifting/carrying files and papers up to 30 pounds
● Some bending/kneeling required
