Education and/or experience: Must possess Tennessee license as a registered nurse. Preferred: BSN with certification in Oncology. Minimum: 3-5 year experience in oncology related services. Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Infusion Center experience preferred.
Knowledge: Strong oncology/infusion clinical background. Understanding of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Care accreditation standards, cancer programs offered by the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Support Community, and the general workings of a community hospital setting.
Skills: Strong clinical skills with extensive knowledge of Oncology medication. Good organizational and problem solving skills. Excellent physical/psychosocial assessment skills. Proficient in using electronic documentation.
Abilities: Analytical problem-solving, excellent written/oral communication, and self-directed. Ability to educate and instruct staff on policy and procedure processes. Understands issues of financial, cultural, educational, and social barriers to information and care. Communicates effectively with patients, their families, and health care providers and staff. Able to work independently. This position also requires a person with a great attitude who is willing to work collaboratively with many disciplines within and outside of the organization.
