U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced bank regulatory attorney for its Legal Regulatory Group (LRG) within the Law Division. This attorney will provide legal support on a wide range of core federal banking statutes and regulations including prudential and safety and soundness regulations, and how they apply to U.S. Bank's operations, corporate activities, investments and affiliate transactions.
The attorney will be responsible for drafting regulatory change memoranda, enterprise wide policies and comment letters; interacting with bank regulatory staff; participating in trade association meetings; assisting with regulatory approvals from and notices to the banking regulators in connection with new activities, products or services, mergers and acquisitions, corporate organization and governance changes; providing legal interpretation regarding bank regulations for members of the Law Division, Government Relations, Corporate Risk and Compliance, Audit teams and business lines; and serving as legal support for various corporate projects. Experience or working knowledge of securities laws and regulations, including the Investment Adviser Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934, is a plus.
- Law degree
- Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- A strong commitment to client service
- The ability to work in a team environment
