Provide a clean, safe and friendly environment for patients, visitors and all staff in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Uses and discloses patient protected health information: 1) Only as it applies to job functions, 2) in amounts minimally necessary for intended purpose and 3) in a confidential manner.
- Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
- Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
- Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
- Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
- Adheres to all hospital required Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices
High school or GED preferred
Basic reading and writing skills required in order to understand and use chemical labels, SDS sheets, OSHA standards, isolation procedures, written instructions and departmental policies.
