Reports Directly to: Store Director, Director of Deli Directs: All Deli employees Job Objective: This is a mid-level management position at store level. The primary purpose of this job is to provide high quality Deli foods to customers in a clean, friendly environment. Major Responsibilities: -To provide outstanding customer service -To greet and thank every customer with whom you come into contact -To train all Deli employees so that they have the required skills to complete the jobs they are assigned -To train all Deli employees to follow the highest standards of safe food handling -To ensure that all safety equipment is in proper order, and to report any issues to the appropriate service personnel and the Store Director -To write schedules for Deli which will provide excellent customer service while meeting budgeted labor goals -To complete a weekly Purchase Report recording sales, purchases, credits and Gross Profit -To accurately complete monthly perishable inventory -To maintain a clean and well organized department -To maintain a fresh and full hot table -To maintain a fresh and full salad case -To maintain proper signage throughout the Bakery Deli Department -To work with Pricing Coordinator to ensure pricing integrity in the department -To attain sales, labor and gross profit projections -To order product for the Bakery Deli Department to ensure that store is in stock on all items, especially ad items -To check in all orders when received to ensure that merchandise is billed correctly -To obtain all credits due from AWG and vendors -To maintain a good working relationship with all other departments in the store -To comply with all company policies including following dress code and wearing name tag
Must be able to lift 60 lb. boxes on occasion and/or exert 25-60 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10-20 lbs. of force constantly while moving and handling materials and products. Must have dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to stand and move about to various work stations. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull items so that objects move toward areas of use. Must be able to use knives and other sharp instruments utilized in the preparation of food items and/or removing product from boxes. This is medium work requiring good corrected vision, hearing, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling and the ability to work on floors that sometimes become slippery.
