We are currently accepting applications for an immediate opening Special Education Teacher for our Camelot Academy campus located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the 2020-2021 school year (and beyond!). Special Education Teachers serve students grades 6-12.

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot has over 40 school campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who need extra social, behavioral, and academic supports.

We are a hard working, cohesive, community-focused school. Our ideal candidate would be a professional who has: a desire to reach out to students who may need extra classroom and behavioral supports, the ability to use a variety of engagement practices in an inclusion setting, and the skills to reflect on and improve instructional strategies.

Our Special Education Teachers are also responsible for designing and providing instruction in accordance with curriculum planning and timing guidelines. Teachers conduct frequent and appropriate assessments to determine student understanding. They work closely with other instructional staff, support staff and administration with a focus on producing favorable academic outcomes and a positive school climate.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Current Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certificate
• One year experience working with at-risk youth preferred
• Proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal skills preferred
