North Side Christian Health Center (NSCHC) was founded in 1993 as an anchor in Pittsburgh's economically challenged and socially depressed North Side. We are a community healthcare provider delivering whole person medical, dental and behavioral health care to the eighteen North Side neighborhoods. Working closely with Executive Director and Management Team (MT), key responsibilities of Medical Director are to (1) oversee medical, dental, behavioral health and nursing personnel and operations, including supervising all providers, ensuring risk management and quality of care, and developing and implementing all other medical aspects of the clinic operations; (2) provide leadership and organization to implement NSCHC's goals and objectives for medical and clinical operations; and (3) provide strategic input to planning and evaluation process for the organization. Medical Director works closely with Clinical Manager and Operations Director in developing and implementing the overall clinic services, operations, and objectives. Medical Director provides report to NSCHC Board of Directors regularly for quality improvement progress. Medical Director also provides direct medical care, thus adheres to two job descriptions: they are (1) clinical specialty job description (i.e., MD, DMD), and (2) administrative position (medical director) job description.
Qualified candidates will be mission-oriented clinicians in the public community health setting with experience in the development and implementation of medical protocols and quality improvement processes. Excellent communication skills and a track record of interaction and collaboration with clinicians, patients, families and community groups are essential.
