The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) IT group provides technology support to CALS departments in the NC State community. This includes support for administrative, academic, and research computing, along with a wide variety of computing and computing support services.
CALS IT provides services and support to the entire college Administration and also to supported Departmental and Research units.
The IT Implementation Support Professional I position primarily manages technology support and services for Biotechnology Teaching (BIT), and cal also provide support in additional departments as needed. This position supports a broad array of clients, including management, students, business staff, researchers, and faculty/instructors.
The duties of this position will include project management, solution development, hardware support & repair, application support, and vendor & stakeholder engagement. This position will work independently and also as a member of a team to solve non-routine and often complex problems where solutions are not prescribed and focus on implementation and integration of technology solutions.
This position may take part in planning and designing of IT services in conjunction with CALS IT, contractors, campus or external vendors. The IT Implementation Support Professional I will need to assess, analyze and pro-actively respond to technical requests in a diverse technical environment and provide specific technical expertise to administrators, faculty, researchers, staff and students.Other Work/Responsibilities
This position also provides support for mobile devices (limited), research equipment integration (assisting researchers and vendors in interfacing with research equipment), printers, applications, basic wired and wireless networking, Active Directory object/group management and JAMF object/group management.
This position will communicate and engage daily with users, management, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include actively managing incident management tickets, responding quickly to customer requests, and managing tasks to completion.
