                  The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) IT group provides technology support to CALS departments in the NC State community. This includes support for administrative, academic, and research computing, along with a wide variety of computing and computing support services.
                  CALS IT provides services and support to the entire college Administration and also to supported Departmental and Research units.

                  Essential Job Duties

                  The IT Implementation Support Professional I position primarily manages technology support and services for Biotechnology Teaching (BIT), and cal also provide support in additional departments as needed. This position supports a broad array of clients, including management, students, business staff, researchers, and faculty/instructors.

                  The duties of this position will include project management, solution development, hardware support & repair, application support, and vendor & stakeholder engagement. This position will work independently and also as a member of a team to solve non-routine and often complex problems where solutions are not prescribed and focus on implementation and integration of technology solutions.

                  This position may take part in planning and designing of IT services in conjunction with CALS IT, contractors, campus or external vendors. The IT Implementation Support Professional I will need to assess, analyze and pro-actively respond to technical requests in a diverse technical environment and provide specific technical expertise to administrators, faculty, researchers, staff and students.

                  Other Work/Responsibilities

                  This position also provides support for mobile devices (limited), research equipment integration (assisting researchers and vendors in interfacing with research equipment), printers, applications, basic wired and wireless networking, Active Directory object/group management and JAMF object/group management.

                  This position will communicate and engage daily with users, management, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include actively managing incident management tickets, responding quickly to customer requests, and managing tasks to completion.

                  Other duties as assigned.

                  Minimum Education/Experience
                  • Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and 2 years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position's role; or a Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and 3 years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position's role, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience in the Information

                  Technology Field related to the position's role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

                  Departmental Required Skills
                  • Microsoft Windows 10 troubleshooting & support.
                  • A/V installation and maintenance in classrooms, labs and similar facilities.
                  • Able to use a computer keyboard and mouse.
                  • Ability to transport, manipulate, and install bulky or heavy equipment (up to 50lbs).
                  Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
                  • Certifications: A+, ITIL, Windows, Dell, Linux, Mac OSX, Extron A/V Associates.
                  • Experience with Extron or Crestron A/V components and conferencing technologies such as Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, Polycom, or Skype.
                  • Experience working in Higher Education with emphasis in a research environment.
                  • Experience providing Apple (MacOS, iOS) & Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) support.
                  • Experience with ITSM solutions such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or SalesForce.
                    Network based computer imaging.
                  Required License or Certification
                  • Valid NC driver's license or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start.
