With unprecedented major disruptions in our current work environment, we are seeking a specialist to serve as the focal point and project manager to assist in planning and responding to major business disruptions of mid and long term duration. The role of the Business Continuity Project Manager is to anticipate, plan for and help manage multiple work streams in the coordinated response to a significant business disruption event. The incumbent will develop and provide consistent analytic products, policy documents and recommendation framing the response to significant events consistent with the company's strategic guidance. The primary and initial focus of this role will be assisting in managing the on-going response to the Covid-19 pandemic and then transitioning that framework into a repeatable process for other business disruption events. This position will be based out of our Global Headquarters in Reston, Virginia with the opportunity for teleworking.
•Performs and manages multifaceted and sensitive planning projects, policy creation, research and analysis in support of business resiliency efforts
•Responsible for the development of the corporation's response, recovery and restoration procedures to ensure operational resilience before, during and after a disruption consistent with the National Incident
•Prepares plans outlining operating procedures to be used in response to incidents, emergencies or disasters/crisis and in the recovery from these events
•Will write and/or review Incident Response Plans and Emergency Operation Plans incorporating diverse viewpoints and capabilities assessments
•Maintains and update resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans
•Navigates and works with individual business units and external stakeholders to optimize outcomes often times working as a facilitator and coordinator of strategic and tactical planning
•Will organize group/business unit feedback to scope the crisis and form a common operating picture for the corporation
•Captures metrics for measuring program effectiveness and trending analysis; provides reports to executive management; helps develop after-action reports (AAR) to include lessons learned and recommendations
•Develops risk based decision matrices; offers prioritizing risk mitigation investments/options for consideration
•Applies lessons learned and prior business impact analysis to enable effective business continuity and disaster recovery efforts
•Assists in the development of crisis communications connected to the impact of an incident and the subsequent recovery efforts
•Reviews emergency plans of individual organizations; perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans in accordance with corporate policy and state and federal regulations
•Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in an appropriate area of specialization
•8 years of relevant experience in project management and emergency management coordination
•Must have knowledge of program management/scheduling tools and techniques
•Previous Project management and process design experience including issue tracking and resolution
•Ability to create and prepare slides to executives and leadership.
•Previous Pandemic Response and/or Crisis and Emergency Management experience.
•Ability to obtain a security clearance.
•Strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to operate successfully in time critical circumstances when lives and resources may be at risk.
•Able to present clearly to leadership teams.
•Able to complete multiple tasks, simultaneously under pressure with very tight deadlines
•Detail-oriented, creative thinker with the ability to strategize and solve complex problems
•Excellent/Advanced MS Office skills including excel and PPT
•Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Certified Emergency Management (CEM) certification
•National Response Framework, National Incident Management System Certifications
•Public Health background
