              Job Description

              Stihl Technician/Sales Associate 
              
              Positions Available in Peoria, Germantown Hills and Morton
              
              Nena Ace Hardware was started in 1979 by brothers, Mike and Don Nena.  We are affiliated with Ace Hardware Corporation based in Oak Brook, IL which is a retailer-owned hardware wholesaler that began operation in 1924.  In 2015, the company expanded into Germantown Hills with a second location.  In 2018, the company expanded into Morton with a third location.

              General Summary
              The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. 
              
              Essential Duties & Responsibilities
              Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
              
              Customer Service:
              •	Provide a positive representation of Nena Ace Hardware
              •	Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
              •	Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
              •	Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
              •	Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
              •	Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
              •	Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
              •	Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
              
              Store Operations
              •	Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
              •	Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
              •	Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
              •	Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
              •	Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
              •	Assist with merchandise resets through the store.
              •	Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders.
              •	Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
              •	Operate forklift with proper training.
              •	Communicate any Store Support Center issue to General Manager for follow up.
              •	Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to General Manager.
              •	Participate in store meetings.
              •	Be professional in appearance and actions.
              •	Perform all other duties as assigned.
              
              Stihl Technician Responsibilities 
              
              •	Completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, belts and outdoor power equipment
              •	Hold a Stihl Silver Certification 
              •	Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
              •	Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
              •	Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
              •	Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
              •	Receives verbal or written orders from supervisor
              •	Excellent customer service skills
              •	Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule
              •	Cleans all areas within in shop and supplies well organized
              •	Performs touch up and finish painting
              •	Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures
              •	Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor
              •	Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

              Education/Training
              High School or GED equivalent.
              
              Experience/Qualifications 
              •	Self-Motivated
              •	Time Management
              •	Reading Comprehension
              •	Basic Equipment Maintenance and Repair
              •	Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical skills is preferred including electrical, welding, etc
              •	Ability to bend and lift in excess of 50 pounds
              •	Pre-employment drug test/background check will help assure we build teams of people who can best work with others and serve the needs of our customers.
              •	Mechanical: 1 year (Preferred)
              •	STIHL product repair: 1 year (Preferred)
              
              Physical Demands
              Standing, walking, lifting (up to 70lbs) and climbing.
