Basic Maintenance Technician:
Under general supervision by the Supervisor and Senior Building Maintenance Technicians, the Building Maintenance Technician operates, maintains, and services basic building walls, doors, flooring, plumbing, steam, vessels, pumps, motors, fire protection, nurse call, and other building systems. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 1 year of trade experience in building maintenance
• Valid Driver's License
• Working knowledge of basic repairs on electrical systems and fixtures, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment in a commercial building
• Working knowledge of wall repair, patch and paint following infection control guidelines in a health care environment
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring dexterity
• Ability to work well with others
• Strong customer relations skills
• Ability to work overtime hours and be available for on-call/call in hours
