Position performs a wide variety of professional Supplier and Quality Assurance (QA) technical work which requires extensive application of Quality Assurance Engineering principles and concepts in support manufacturing operations. Involves collaborating across multiple Cobham sites, suppliers, departments and monitoring the movement of materials throughout the procurement process. Scope includes working with resolving material discrepancies, ensuring material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized, evaluating Supplier reliability and developing new supply sources where competition doesn't currently exist. Requires an ability to build positive relationships with key Suppliers while leveraging these relationships to improve Supplier quality, delivery, costs and service.
Interprets quality policies and regulations in place or flowed down from customers as it relates to the materials and services procured from the suppliers.
Performs professional technical assignments requiring the full use and wide application of established Quality Engineering principles, theories and concepts.
Evaluate and improve supplier quality performance by managing supplier quality system, working with suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement.
Manages the Supplier Corrective Action process. Responsible for issuing, tracking and reviewing all supplier corrective actions as a result of a NCR or defect. Helps identify and assess what the root cause maybe and participates as required.
Directs the development of the Supplier Quality Assurance Program. Determines and clarifies interpretations of contractual Quality requirements of the suppliers and works with the programs Quality Engineers to ensure proper quality flow-downs are used.
Represents Supply Chain and Suppliers during design and requirements reviews and Configuration Control Board activities.
Composes QA technical/management section of proposal. Analyzes each QA bid for adequacy.
Evaluates the capability of major subcontractors and suppliers, and works, in conjunction with Program, Engineering,
Procurement and Subcontract personnel to maintain continuity in the delivery of products that meet Engineering and Production needs in time phase plan.
Establishes effective interface with customers and their representatives. Participates in Customer reviews of supplier quality concerns, discussions and presentations. Demonstrates capability to meet customer needs and assures customer that Quality interests are maintained.
Manage quality, SCARs and Surveys for Key Suppliers
Provide QE support as needed for supplier scorecard DPPM & responsiveness ratings
Establish rapport with Supply Chain Stakeholders for suppliers with DPPM issues
Use SCAR system or supplier mentoring to improve DPPM for low scoring key suppliers
Conducts quality assessments and surveys with suppliers both on site and remote.
Assists and provides guidance to Engineering in the development of test plans, test procedures and other technical data items through application of knowledge of in-house capabilities. Validates and approves acceptance test procedures and verifies factory test equipment (FTE) compatibility.
Evaluates supplier route cards, process sheets and establishes numerous inspection requirements by evaluating and monitoring process capabilities.
Reviews and approves suppliers acceptance and qualification test plans and procedures. Assists with supplier evaluation and selection.
Performs source inspections and acceptance.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience supplier quality management
May be required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
25% Travel as needed within the U.S. and internationally
Auditing experience and training (ASQ-Certified Quality Auditor and or Lead Auditor Training for ISO
Familiarity with Quality Standards (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, FDA QSR, etc.)
