                  POSITION SUMMARY: Quality Assurance Personnel are responsible for ensuring that all products released from the site meet defined customer requirements. This shall be accomplished through the use of effective manufacturing methods with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing scrap. This role provides quality support to production. Support the Quality Department’s efforts to improve outgoing product quality and department efficiency throughout the operation. 

                  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

                  • Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to: 
                  • Company and facility Policies 
                  • Safety – LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules 
                  • Quality – PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures 
                  • SOPs – Methods for performing work 
                  • SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean) 
                  • Good Manufacturing Practices 
                  • Food/Safety Security 
                  • HACCP ( Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) 
                  • Food Regulatory and Customer Spec 
                  • Accountable for ensuring that product testing is performed per the PQCT for specific bag type  
                  • Perform product audits as needed to ensure on-going quality 
                  • Responsible for initial production signoff to ensure bags are made to specification and meet all quality requirements  
                  • Accountable for comprehending specifications and PQCT for various bag types 
                  • Ensure that quality product standards are upheld and that any suspect product is identified, held, and handled in accordance to established practices, including recording appropriate data in HOLD database and communicating status to Quality Facilitator and Shift Lead 
                  • Verify any “out of control” conditions and report to the Shift Lead; follow up with operator to ensure appropriate adjustments are made and conditions are back in control 
                  • Participate in daily shift pass-on meetings to ensure any issues or product concerns are communicated to on-coming personnel 
                  • Answer any quality questions generated by operators/packers/shift leads as to what is acceptable, marginal, or defective 
                  • Works as a valuable Team member to accomplish business goals and objectives: 
                  • Assist in verification of raw materials for bag production by ensuring that proper materials are used per bag specifications 
                  • Relieve inspectors/packers for breaks 
                  • Work together with all plant personnel to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize production performance 
                  • Actively participate during DOE, Gage R&R, or other studies relating to process improvement as directed by Quality Facilitator 
                  • Participate in investigations and corrective actions for quality issues or customer complaints 
                  • Provide assistance on product retesting / re-inspection on Holds and Returns  
                  • Support facility in identification of root causes of non-conformances 
                  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement 
                  • Provide training as necessary for new QA personnel 
                  • Ensure that documentation is thorough and accurate and properly filed at completion of task or workday 

                  SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

                  • High Diploma/GED  
                  • Previous manufacturing and Quality experience is preferred 
                  • Data entry, Microsoft Outlook  
                  • Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision 
                  • Drive for superior quality products 
                  • Ability to effectively gather and present information  
                  • Ability to use a stereoscope, hand tools and experience with CMM’s, and read specs 
                  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
                  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong organizational skills 
                  • Ability to work independently and as a team
