Human Resources Manager – Royal Oak, MI

 

The Probate Pro (www.TheProbatePro.com), a division of the Darren Findling Law Firm, PLC, is a growing probate, estate planning, and elder law firm with offices in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. The Probate Pro is seeking a Human Resources Manager for its Royal Oak, MI office. Candidate will be expected to cross-train in a variety of office functions and will work in a team environment. This is a very busy practice that thrives on hard-working, enthusiastic professionals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the day to day hiring, recruiting, and onboarding of new hires
  • Supporting training needs for all staff
  • Processing payroll
  • Manage the “pulse” of the office through weekly one-on-one meetings with entire staff
  • Leads, manages, and holds accountable the office manager, receptionist, and file clerk
  • Benefits administration, including assessing employee benefits on an annual basis and coordinating the annual open enrollment period
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for employees
  • Employee Performance reviews of reporting staff
  • Maintaining the employee manual
  • Reinforces diversity, harassment, and safety programs through orientation, continuing education and ongoing communication
  • Makes recommendations for continuous improvement of the department as well as firm operations generally
  • Participates as needed in special projects

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years human resources experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years recruiting and supervisory experience
  • Minimum 1 year diversity focus experience
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow-through
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Adapts well to change and maintains a positive attitude under stress
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused on the most important and urgent issues
  • Results-oriented and assume a level of ownership in work product
  • Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Adoption of our core values
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours when necessary
