Description:This position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require: (a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, particularly Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), Electronic Turn-in Document (ETID), Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook and other programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. Additionally. this position may require assisting other range support personnel in the conduct of general maintenance and repairs to support training ranges in an operationally ready and safe condition, assisting in the fabrication of facades and target structures, and the installation of hollow core, solid core, residential steel, industrial steel and various locking systems for use as targets on training ranges. All personnel supporting maintenance of live-fire ranges need to do so in accordance with applicable Navy directives (e.g. MIL-HDBK 1027/3B, NAVSEA OP-5, AR 385-63) for compliance and safety.
Naval Supply Background Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Able to work outside in all weathers. Able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances. Able to write and speak clearly in English. Must be able to travel occasionally. Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance there the candidate must be a US citizen.
Already has Department of Defense Secret Clearance Knowledge of applicable Navy directives (e.g. MIL-HDBK 1027/3B, NAVSEA OP-5, AR 385-63) for compliance and safety. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
