        About the


        This is a newly created position within the International Regulatory Relations organization. The role will be responsible for leading and developing a team of professionals focused on establishing effective and productive regulatory relations with APAC regulators covering regulatory exams, inquiries and related response management, material changes to regulations, supervisory meetings, regulatory notifications by APAC businesses, regulatory approvals and licenses for APAC material legal entity activities, and regulatory submissions. This team will work cross functionally with multiple support partners.

        Internally known as APAC Regulatory Relations and Review Activities Management Leader, this role will lead all regulatory relations for APAC businesses and ensure compliance with Wells Fargo's and International's policies, procedures, and protocols for regulatory relations. Additionally, the role will be responsible for coordinating with other Regulatory Relations leaders internationally, as well as ensuring consistent processes to coordinate Business specific Review Activities.

        This position can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.


        • Partner with the APAC Leadership team to establish and execute regulatory engagement strategy for the APAC legal entities.
        • Ensure execution of processes and requirements governed by Wells Fargo and International Regulatory Relations protocols .
        • Implement APAC and International procedures covering regulatory exams and inquiries, response management, regulators' communications on changes in regulations and industry issues, regulatory response management, supervisory meetings, notifications, regulatory approvals and licenses, annual submissions, safeguarding of supervisory information, records management, and reporting .
        • Ensure Review Activities functions are integrated with other risk management disciplines across APAC .
        • Manage relationships and foster a team orientation with corporate, business heads, control organization, internal risk management, legal, technology and audit; represent the businesses in the external community, including with senior APAC regulators.
        • Promote and maintain a risk culture that encourages an informed, measured, disciplined and balanced approach to understanding and managing business process risk .
        • Lead, performance manage, engage, motivate, develop and build a high performing team, hiring key talent as needed.
        • Lead with integrity and create an environment where team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

        Market Skills and Certifications

        • Degree and higher level qualification e.g. MBA or equivalent.
        • Significant experience in a combination of risk management, legal, compliance, operational risk management and business process management within financial services.
        • Proven experience of leading, motivating and retaining high performing teams as well as coaching and developing team members.
        • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable experience in building and maintaining strong and credible relationships with key stakeholder groups including Business Leaders, Independent Risk Management and Regulatory Examiners.
        • Ability to communicate effectively to create a vision, influence strategically and achieve buy-in from stakeholders at all levels in order to successfully execute business initiatives.
        • Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment.
        • Achievement driven with a passion for results, taking personal accountability for delivering on objectives.
        • Strong analytical skills to build compelling, strategic recommendations.
        • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to process multiple tasks simultaneously and plan, prioritize and set goals.
        • Extensive regulatory engagement experience in key jurisdictions across APAC and fluency in one of the Asian languages will be a plus.
        • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, products, and regulatory environment.
        • Working knowledge of International relationships and financial transaction processes.
        • Experience in embedding risk management practices in the financial services industry, including development, implementation and sustainment of approach.
