Independently conducts rigorous empirical research related to retirement financial planning, trends in product design regarding defined contribution workplace plans. Produces quality thought leadership papers and presentations discussing our philosophy, process, and strategies with clients, and prospects. Understands and presents both internally and externally the latest advances in academic work on financial planning to continually improve the product and outcome for our investors. Provides oversight of the implementation of the financial planning models in production and works closely with the technology team to implement software solutions that provide financial planning advice to our 9 million-plus investors. Independently develops and maintains comprehensive financial planning models that meet our clients' needs, goals, and preferences in a reliable, cost-effective, and transparent way.
Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning or related field. 1 year related experience as a Researcher, Retirement Financial Planning or in a related occupation. Experience is required and must include the following: Working in a large retirement service company with a mathematic, economic, computer science and statistical background; Developing and maintaining comprehensive consumer financial wellness models and retirement planning models for large retirement service company; Presenting at conferences and extensive public speaking skills; Conducting empirical research with large datasets; and Data analysis skills in one or more languages such as Stata, Matlab, SAS, or Python.
