Our client, an investment firm in Los Angeles, is looking for a Director of Finance to join their team. They are currently at $100M AUM and have invested in some of the hottest names in the tech industry and are in the process of closing a $175M fund. This role will help manage their accounting, portfolio reporting, valuations, and investor relations among other responsibilities. This position can be remote. 
Responsibilities

• For Funds and Investing: 
  • Daily tracking of all investments: past, in progress, and emerging, including doc review
  • Execute company policies and procedures to maintain smooth daily operations
  • Generate routine financial reports for management and LPs
  • Analyze fund capital requirements and manage capital calls
  • Maintain accurate records of all fund transactions
  • Manage cash flow and expenses on a weekly basis
  • Fund and SPV planning, formation, and optimization
  • Tax preparation planning and execution with appropriate vendors (K1 & tax doc gathering) 
• For Incubated Companies
  • Facilitate incubated company formation, planning, structuring of operating companies 
  • Analyze incubated company capital requirements and manage cash flow and expenses independently or in conjunction with outside partners (i.e. outside bookkeepers and providers) 
  • Generate or coordinate routine financial reports for management and board of directors
  • Financial modeling and accounting support
  • Document review with the assistance of external counsel 
• Extreme attention to detail; we are looking for someone who is meticulous
• Formal accounting background experience
• Formal experience dealing with complex contracts
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent financial modeling skills
• Expert level in modern IT — Google apps, Microsoft Office
• Graduate from a top school
• Experience at a fund preferred
• Willing to work remotely and/or travel
