Kelly is looking for a Graphics Designer for our client located in the Deer Park, New York area. This individual will manage activities associated with artwork and platemaking to ensure that customer and print specifications are achieved in a timely manner in accordance with Customer requirements and production planning.
Responsibilities:
Maintain, update, and disseminate graphics information specific to Bemis printing
Partner with Customer Service to ensure that all new graphics are ordered in a timely fashion to support manufacturing timelines
Participate in Preproduction Meetings and act as a liaison between the customer and Pre-Press contractors(s) to plan how Artwork will be produced in terms of colors, line screen, and gradients while ensuring graphics are fit for use in support of equipment/process capabilities
Create graphic design reproduction order (DRO) in Path to Print according to external provided artwork and internal print specifications
Places artwork & plate orders with Prepress contractors according internal timelines
Confirm receipt of Art Work (PDF’s etc.), and provides notification internally as necessary
Place order for Print Tools (photopolymer, digital polymer etc.) in support of internal manufacturing timelines
Coordinate logistics of press approvals/print trials with all related parties inclusive of customer representatives, production planning group and pre-press contractors
Lead the Press Approval/Print Trial event internally and externally
Maintain/handle information regarding overall timeline of graphics process from order inception to manufacture
Support projects aimed at improving manufacturing/product capabilities
Participate/Lead WCOM teams
Record receipt of plates and delivery to Pre-Press materials
Compile production packet to support internal process flow
Verify & monitor in-house plate inventory
Verify and authorize vendor payment in support of product receipt, pricing etc.
Liaises with customer representatives for Customer Color Management Processes
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2+ Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Flexographic printing specifically related to artwork, engravings, platemaking and prepress
Detail-orientation, administration, organization, and problem-solving skills
Establishment and maintained cooperative and effective working relationships
Effective oral and written communication skills working with vendors, in-house graphics, and customers
Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Adobe Illustrator
