The Medical Director CRMG Critical Care and Pulmonary is accountable to the GHVHS Chief Medical Officer. The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the employed ICU physicians and midlevel providers of The Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group at Catskill Regional Medical Center campus. In that role he /she will work in a hospital setting, intensive care units. They also consult on non-ICU floors on in-patients who require pulmonary consults and care. They also can be assigned a regularly scheduled out-patient office pulmonary clinic schedule. They evaluate & treat new patients, diagnose & stabilize critically ill patients, treat those with impending or active organ failure or other life-threatening conditions. They initiate advanced cardiac life support until a cardiac code team arrives & then supervise & support the team. In the leadership role this position is responsible for the clinical excellence of In-Patient care and Out-patient services Pulmonary and Critical Care services at CRMC campus, and for developing programs aimed at meeting quality measures and population health management requirements.
Minimum Education: M.D., M.D. Ph.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.
Minimum Experience: Board Certification in Surgery or Internal Medicine
Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine
Required Certification/Registration: New York State Medical License Current
Board Certification Pulmonary and/or Critical Care
New York State DEA required
New York State Infection Control Certified
BLS certification preferred
ACLS certification required
ATLS certification preferred
PALS certification preferred
Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing. Psycho-motor skills allowing for insertion of airways, chest tubes, arterial lines, and specialty-specific procedures
• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform a full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
