ENGINEERING Corning Optical Communications LLC in Milpitas, CA seeks Senior Wireless Software Engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software for 3G/4G/5G and successive 3GPP technologies for radio access networks and core network protocols and subsystems. Duties include: supporting internal testing and quality assurance teams, as well as external field support engineers, to complete interoperability and acceptance testing in wireless operator networks; integrating radio interface functions with session management and configuration subsystems; performing design and code reviews and providing peer feedback; and debugging field issues by analyzing system logs and other field data. Position requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications + 5 years of progressive exp. in C/C++ programming for the design and development of wireless communication protocols. Must include: 2 years of exp. developing RRM software on Linux platforms using GSM, UMTS, CDMA, or LTE radio interface protocols; exp. writing design documents for the implementation of 3GPP specifications, including RRC; experience implementing layered 3GPP protocol stacks on resource constrained embedded processors using multi-threaded programming models; exp. writing software for end-to-end procedures used in cellular voice and data call establishment, mobility, and interworking with 3GPP core network entities; and exp. utilizing IP protocol stack software on Linux platforms.
