              Position Overview:

              Boeing's In-Space Vehicles Engineering, located in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an experienced, highly skilled and motivated RF/Microwave Design and Test Engineer.  As an RF/Microwave Design and Test Engineer, you will work on satellite antenna/payload products and capabilities that help our customers to meet their mission requirements.

              Position Responsibilities:

              • Researches, develops, integrates, and reviews antenna and passive microwave designs and processes by working with multiple engineering disciplines to meet system performance requirements.  
              • Develops and validates requirements for various antenna/payload system s - communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.
              • Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for antenna/payload systems - electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
              • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
              • Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of antenna/RF designs to requirements. 
              • Uses analytical tools to verify the design. 
              • Specifies requirements for hardware, software, models, instruments and support equipment as required to meet test objectives.
              • Develops complex test plans to identify test approach, resources, schedules and cost estimates that meet applicable requirements, standards and regulations.
              • Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
              • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested.

              This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.

              This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

              A single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed or updated within the past five years is required.

              Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

              • Experience with HFSS, GRASP, MATLAB and/or Labview
              • Antenna/payload RF (radio frequency) experience
              • Education/training or work experience with Antenna/payload design and characteristics

              Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

              • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and/or Physics
              • 5 or more years of applicable industry experience

              Typical Education & Experience:

              Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
