SHIPPING/RECEIVING/WAREHOUSE/FREEZER/INVENTORY ASSISTANT MANAGER
Caribbean Food Delights (CFD) a privately owned company, located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of -the-art facility, is SQF certified. We are looking for a hands-on Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse/Inventory Assistant Manager with 5 - 7 years of related work experience, to assist in overseeing the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse/Freezer and Inventory control activities, including cycle count; will be also responsible for the accurate receipt of incoming orders and the accurate disbursement of orders as per purchase order agreement. Lead, train and supervise employees in the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO BEING THE ASSISTANT IN THE FOLLOWING:
Lead/manage employees in your team and processes for material/supplies receiving, stocking, cycle and physical inventory counts and materials distribution to the production floor.
Plan, direct and coordinate inventory control activities related to incoming goods and manufactured products.
Review inventory and work order transactions for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor and enforce all warehouse SOPs; ensure that all SOPs are being followed by everyone in the department.
Manage cycle count process and investigate discrepancies to find root cause and take proper corrective action; ensure that the cycle count procedure is executed consistently and accurately.
Maintain a high level of inventory through cycle counting and process improvement and accuracy.
Report product shortages, overages and all inventory levels, daily/weekly for replenishment, to ensure continuous operation and avoid product or inventory shortages.
Work closely with Sales/Operations, Production, Quality Control and Equipment Maintenance departments, relative to supplies/goods, finished products, equipment and logistics.
Coordinate activities for employees ensuring effective use of productive work hours; oversee performance levels of employees to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and execution of various work responsibilities and procedures.
Oversee supply shortage issues as well as overstock situations and put corrective actions in place.
Analyze complex transaction histories in an effort to reconcile discrepancies.
Oversee the release of products to customers, including inventory accuracy, correct paper work and efficient loading.
Maintain the sanitary condition of the warehouse, cooler, freezer, loading dock, exterior areas of shipping/receiving such as daily housekeeping, removal of condensation ice build-up in the freezer and condensation in the cooler; ensure that all areas are safe to work in; maintain records.
Ensure that all paperwork regarding each order related to shipping and receiving is accurately completed and processed. Assist in invoice reconciliation with Operations and Accounting departments.
Ensure that all food security sign in and check out documents for all receiving and shipping activities are accurately maintained.
Manage and control freezer maps, such as Bin location, Allergen section, QC On Hold Samples, etc., on a regular basis.
Coordinate logistics of transportation carriers to ensure that all shipments are done timely and accurately and follow customer requirements.
Handle the department's safety programs ensuring that lifts safety procedures are followed; ensure that the department has the necessary working equipment to perform the distribution functions.
Ensure that warehouse storage procedures and inventory controls such as stock rotation, allergen separation and label control procedures are followed daily.
Perform other related duties.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of college or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of related work related experience
Strong math skills - addition and subtraction
Strong ability to count accurately and to use good judgment
Strong communication skills
Proficient computer skills
