    Job Description:

    L3Harris, Electron Devices, Inc. (EDD) currently has an opportunity for an RF / TWT Test Engineer to join the team in the Military Helix Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) group at our Torrance, California location. Work will be in support of production, development and continuous improvement efforts for TWTs built at EDD and used in a variety of commercial and military systems for communications, radar and electronic warfare. In this position you will provide technical support for RF system testing, review TWT test results to ensure performance is met and assist in RF system troubleshooting or upgrades when the opportunity arises. You will act as a key member of failure investigation teams, developing and performing testing used to determine sensitivity, root cause, and validating corrective action. Other tasks for the role may include development of test procedures, design of new test fixtures, investigating or upgrading system software and training of test technicians. The role will also work closely with project engineers and operations to assure technical and production needs are met.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience in RF testing of high power amplifiers, radar or communications systems is required. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include:

    Basic knowledge of RF system design, manufacturing or testing a requirement
    • Experience working with TWTs or other high power amplifiers a plus
    • A bachelor's degree in physics or an engineering discipline required
    • Computer programming skills a nice have
    • Must be able to work well in a team environment and with individuals from a variety of areas within the company (such as test technicians, engineers from various disciplines, operations management and facilities personnel)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed
    • Demonstrated interpersonal abilities are required
    • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles a plus
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
