POSITION TITLE: SANDWICH ARTIST®
REPORTS TO: MANAGEMENT
The Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
A Sandwich Artist™ serves and adds value to customer needs in an efficient and friendly manner. This position promotes SUBWAY® brand awareness and ensures hygiene standards are met.
•Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
•Looks for opportunities to enhance both the customer’s meal and experience
•Maintains high personal standards in both presentation and work habits including the provided uniform to meet SUBWAY® and customer expectations
•Works as a team member
•Ensure customers are served in an efficient and friendly manner
•Completes suggestive selling techniques with each and every customer
•Demonstrates an understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately
•Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner
•Complete daily work routines in an efficient and timely manner
•Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
•Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up. Understands and adheres to the 3-step method for cleaning.
•Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image.
•Receive deliveries and checks in stock, Completes daily bread counts
•Completes food preparation including bread and cookie baking
•Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
•Completes training courses as directed by the SUBWAY® Manager
Food Safety and Occupational Health & Safety
•Complies with Local Food Safety Laws, Ensures food is prepared and stored correctly and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety standards
•Carries out temperature checks and records as per company processes
•Completes daily and weekly cleaning schedules as per the cleaning charts
Security & Loss Prevention
•Take precautions to prevent theft of, and damage to, the stock or store
•Follows company security procedures
•Secures cash and stock from loss or theft
•Counts end of shift monies and drops in safe
•Uses Point of Sale system/cash registers to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Collects payment from guests and makes change.
•Performs Cash-In Procedure - accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during the shift.
•Follows safety procedures to prevent injury
•Provide a safe work environment for employees and customers
Education: Some high school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: No previous experience required. Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 5kgs frequently and up to 10kgs occasionally.
