About Shifts
Shifts by Snagajob is changing how people work. Set your own schedule, work where you want, and easily get paid.
Shifts by Snagajob is designed to help businesses fill shifts with qualified workers, and to help workers earn extra income by picking up unfilled shifts at businesses near them.
When businesses request extra workers, we’ll let you know the shift is available. Here’s how it works:
A business requests a shift.
You get notified about shift openings.
You sign up, work the shift, and get paid!
If a shift matches your availability, you and other workers who might be able to work the shift are notified. Shifts are first come, first served, so make sure you act fast!
Shifts by Snagajob currently supports many locally owned and franchised fast-casual and fast-food businesses, retailers, and event/catering businesses.
You’ll be able to work shifts like:
Dishwashing
Food Prep
Customer Service
Register Support
Shelf Stocking
Event Setup
Catering Service
Table Bussing
And more!
Shifts by Snagajob is always working to bring more businesses and opportunities to our workers.
Sometimes you will even see shifts to work with nonprofits and volunteer groups as a way to give back to the community. In that case, workers will still get paid and Shifts by Snagajob simply foots the bill instead.
Right now, we are filling shifts in:
Washington, DC
Charlotte, NC
Raleigh, NC
Dallas, TX
Orlando, FL
Richmond, VA
Virginia Beach, VA
Northern VA
Once you are in the network, you can work shifts wherever you want. For example, if you live in Richmond but will be traveling up to Northern VA, you will be able to pick up shifts in Northern VA!
We are growing rapidly, and have plans to add even more cities.
Above all, when hiring workers, we focus on attitude. We look for positive, outgoing, and proactive personalities that are willing to learn something new at any moment.
Because we primarily support the food industry, having a background in restaurant work is recommended, but certainly not required. We also encourage those with military, retail, or other customer service experience to apply.
We can not guarantee any number of hours or shifts. That’s up to how often businesses post new shifts and how many workers are looking to claim those shifts!
When a business posts a new shift, notifications will be sent to works based on their notification preferences.
The shift will go to the worker who accepts first. Shifts can go fast, so if you like a shift and you can work the hours, make sure to claim it!
You can work up to 40 hours a week, so you can accept as many shifts as you like within those hours.
The simple answer is NO. You’re in control, so you work when you want to!
If you don’t log into your account for 30 days, you will go into inactive status.
If you’re inactive for 90 days, your account will be deactivated.
We can grant a Leave of Absence on a case-by-case basis (for example, you’re going back to school) by submitting an On-Hold Request in the “My Activity” section of your account.
