We’re in this together. When you’re hired as a Shifts Worker, you become a key part of our team. You rely on us to help you find the shifts you need to make your life possible. And we rely on you to fill shifts for our businesses. So this is where we promise to help each other out.


Our promise to you

We have your back. Plain and simple, we promise to support you.

We’re committed to giving you real time support. We always want to discuss your comments, concerns, or suggestions. And we’re here for all the highs and lows—we want you to know when you’ve done a great job.

We’re your ally. If you don’t like working somewhere (for whatever reason), we won’t ever send you back.

We’re here to help you succeed. If you love working for a particular business or location and decide to work there full-time, you can still pick up other shifts if you have the time.


Your promise to us

In return, we expect that you’ll bring your A-game. That’s your promise to us.
Here’s how you can do that:

Be positive and proactive. Have a can-do attitude, treat others with respect and always ask what else you can do.

Show up on-time, every time. That means getting to work early enough to get your uniform on, put your stuff away and do whatever else you need to take care of before your shift’s scheduled start time.

Do what you say you’ll do. Show up for your shifts. If you’re going to be late, let the manager know ahead of time. If you need to cancel a shift, make sure give at least 48 hours notice.
Dress for the job. We’ll let you know what the uniform is and make sure you have whatever company-specific clothes they require, plus we’ll let you know what the business expects (like tucked in shirts, or a certain color of pants). If you’re wondering if something is okay, just ask us.
Put your phone away. Once you’ve arrived and clocked in to work, you’ll be busy working your shift. Save screen time for your break.

Use sound judgement. Don’t steal. Giving unauthorized discounts or free merchandise is stealing. Don’t show up to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Don’t do anything that will hurt the Snag Work brand or the business you’re working for—this includes posting negative things about the business on social media. We have your back. If something went down that upset you, come talk to us first. We’ll help you sort it out.

Remember, the Shifts promise goes both ways. Not holding up your end has consequences—from disciplinary actions (like strikes or even removal from the network). By accepting Snagajob Shifts, you’re telling us that you read, understand and agree to our expectations. And in turn, we’re standing behind our commitment to you. Let’s do this.

Examples of improper conduct include, but are not limited to:

  • not adhering to dress code and uniform requirements
  • improper food safety precautions
  • treating a customer or colleague with disrespect
  • giving away food or discounts without permission.

Remember, improper conduct strikes can be given at the discretion of the Shifts team for unprofessional behavior or a lack of preparedness. Please use good judgment at all times.

Please do not work a shift if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Or if you have any of these symptoms:

  • Sore throat with fever
  • Jaundice (yellow color in white part of the eyes or skin)
  • Diarrhea / vomiting
  • High fever

Please do not work a shift in the food-service industry if you have been diagnosed with the following:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Shigella
  • Salmonella
  • Norovirus

In some instances medical clearance will be required to return to work.

If you can give at least 48 hours notice, you won’t be penalized for dropping the shift. If you need to drop a shift within 48 hours from the shift’s start time, you’ll earn one strike.

Here’s how to drop your shift so others have a chance to claim it:

  • Log in to to view “Your Upcoming Shifts”
  • Select “Details” on the shift you need to drop
  • Tap the “Drop this Shift” button to cancel your shift

Being on time means arriving early enough so you’re ready to work at the shift’s start time. Typically this means 10-15 minutes early so you have time to park, greet your manager, and put away personal belongings.

According to the Professional Conduct Policy, being late will result in one strike. You are expected to call ahead if you’re running late. Failure to do so will result in one additional strike, so if you’re late AND you didn’t call ahead, you’ll earn two strikes total.

If you’re running late, please take the following actions:
  1. Immediately call the manager on duty for your shift, to tell them that you may be late.
    • If no one answers, you can try calling the business.
  2. Then, also, text the Shifts team at 855-317-9649 to say you’re running late to your shift, and tell us whether you’ve been able to warn the business. This keeps us informed.

If the manager asks you not to come in due to your tardiness you will not be paid for that shift, and you will receive one strike for being late.

We appreciate your commitment to Snagajob, and want to respect the time you’ve set aside for your upcoming shifts.

Shifts Business Partners may cancel shifts up to 24 hours before a shift’s start time. In this instance, there’s nothing you need to do: when a shift is cancelled within this time frame you will not be paid.

However, if a Shifts Business Partner cancels a shift 24 hours or less before a shift’s start time you will receive payment depending on when the shift was cancelled. Payment is calculated as follows:

  • 50% of the expected shift payment if your shift is cancelled within 24 hours to 2 hours before the shift start time.
  • 100% of the expected shift payment if your shift is cancelled within 2 hours of the shift start time.

If you arrive on time for a scheduled shift and the manager on duty sends you home, cancelling your shift on the spot, please do the following:

  • Submit hours for the period that you were there (even if only 10-30 minutes).
  • Mention in your feedback what happened.
  • Text or email the Shifts team and include:
    • Your name
    • Date of the shift
    • Brand and location of the shift
    • Name of who you spoke with at the business. Hopefully it was the manager, but if not, please remember names.

If the business did not cancel the shift ahead of time, and we can verify you made no mistake about the shift location, date, and start time, you will be paid for the original shift length.

You should never leave a shift early without getting approval from the manager or a Shifts team member. If you do, you’ll receive an automatic three strikes. 

In most situations, the best thing to do is to try to work the full shift. However, if you do need to leave early, please:

  • Speak to the manager on duty first
  • Ask the manager if one of you can contact your Engagement Manager to try to find a replacement for you.

We expect you to make your best effort to stay until a replacement can be found for you.

If handled appropriately and professionally, leaving early with approval and cooperation from the manager and Snagajob will only result in one strike. We are taking active measures to protect our workers against COVID-19 (coronavirus). Until further notice, we will be removing late drop strikes due to illness. As the situation evolves and we get new information, we may make additional updates to our procedures and will keep you informed.

Regardless of the reason you were sent home early, please submit accurate hours reflecting the time you worked.

Whether or not you’re paid for the original shift length depends on the reason for early dismissal.

  • You’ll be paid for the FULL original shift length if a manager sent you home early based on factors unrelated to your conduct and/or performance, such as the following:
    • Job completed early
    • The business is sufficiently staffed
    • Business is slower than anticipated
    • A manager made a shift request by mistake
  • You will be paid ONLY for the hours you worked if you were dismissed early due to:
    • Improper conduct
    • Being unable to perform the job duties communicated in the shift description

On occasion, the shift manager may ask you to work longer hours. You DO NOT have to say yes; the decision is up to you.

If you decide to work later, just report the longer hours when you submit hours, and you’ll get paid for that extra time.

Snagajob Shifts has workers’ compensation insurance.

If you are hurt, please immediately tell the manager on duty. Then, you MUST report the incident immediately to the Shifts Team.

We’re willing to listen and take into account the circumstances surrounding any incident that resulted in strikes. Please be proactive in communicating any explanations or relevant documentation to the Shifts team as soon as possible to remain active in our network.

Examples of relevant documentation include:

  • hospital stay paperwork
  • doctor’s note
  • accident report
  • police report


You can communicate with the Snag Work team about strike(s) by:

Your Snag Work account: If you were reported as a no-show through the Shifts platform by the manager on duty for your shift, you can use the Shifts platform to explain what happened and upload any relevant documentation relating to the no-show.
