Snagajob expands mobile job search options
Offerings support dramatic increase in mobile job searching
Snagajob, America’s largest hourly marketplace for job seekers and employers, announced today the expansion of its mobile job search capabilities. A fully mobile-optimized Snagajob.com and expanded Android and iPhone mobile applications make it easier and faster for hourly job seekers to apply for jobs on the go.
These mobile updates keep Snagajob at the forefront of job seeker search trends. Over the last 12 months, mobile traffic to Snagajob.com has increased by 101 percent compared to the previous 12 months. And Snagajob research shows that 60 percent of hourly job seekers have mobile Internet devices, and 68 percent of those seekers consider their mobile device an important job search tool.
“Expanding our mobile offerings gives our job seekers greater ability to choose the search approach that they’re most comfortable with,” said Jason Hamilton, vice president of marketing for Snagajob. “This is a win-win for job seekers and employers because seekers can find the jobs they want easier, and employers will continue to receive the quality applications they need to quickly fill open positions.”
Snagajob’s free iPhone and Android mobile apps provide the same functionality of using Snagajob.com on a desktop device. Job seekers can view their profile, browse jobs and apply to every job posted on Snagajob.com through their mobile device. In addition, Snagajob now offers mobile users the ability to opt in to receive push notifications when employers in their area have immediate hiring needs.
“Job seekers want the competitive advantage of being alerted to immediate hiring needs,” said Hamilton. “Our push notifications will do just that.”
