JOB SUMMARY

At Paciugo we still make our gelati and sorbetti the traditional Italian way, from scratch with all-natural ingredients.  As the Paciugo Gelato Shift Lead you will have the awesome responsibility of assisting unit management with monitoring daily operations and leading team members in the performance of their duties!

Other responsibilities include greeting guests and completing guest transactions, assisting with food preparation, serving gelato and other Paciugo products, cleaning equipment and dishes, smiling, learning, completing operation reports, and other duties as necessary for delivering the Italian gelateria experience.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Ensure each guest receives superior service by providing a fun ‘Paciugo Experience’, which includes prompt recognition and greeting of guests with a smile.
• Communicate, sample, and explain menu offerings, products, and promotions to guests.
• Complete cash handling duties with appropriate paperwork; process and present checks to guests and complete payment transactions.
• Assist unit management with monitoring daily operations and lead employees in the performance of their duties in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Perform opening and closing duties which include cash management, inventory, stocking, and unit appearance.
• Adhere to and ensure all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines are followed.
• Support the training of team members to ensure that unit standards, sales and customer service are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness of store by ensuring that all areas of the unit are properly cleaned and maintained and opening and/or closing side works are completed  according to established checklists.
• Follow safe food handling and proper hygiene practices.
• Maintain great working attitude toward customers, responsibilities, and team members/staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Results driven, proactive, and self-motivated
• High level of integrity
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Basic computer skills (using internet, social media, Excel, Word) are a plus
• Work experience in service industry is a plus
• Barista work experience is a plus
• Italian language skills are a plus
• Love of gelato or other Italian foods and desserts is a plus!
