About this job
- Report to work on time in a clean, proper uniform with a positive attitude
- Practice all rules for safety security, and other restaurant policies
- Assist co-workers in excellent guest service
- Escort customers to their tables
- Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- Inform customers of daily specials
- Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as require
- Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
- Clean menus, work areas, counters and tables

All clerk/cooks are responsible for conducting him/herself in a courteous, business-like manner; for maintaining good personal appearance and hygiene; for working with and through their General Manager to improve other team member's appearance and performance.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS;
Must be able to stand and walk up to 10 hours daily performing the functions as described above; must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds; must be able to climb up ladders and step stools; must be able to bend, twist, and reach to perform the functions described above; must have corrected vision to be able to read a cash register; must be able to work around various odors, dust and mist as well as stock a refrigerated vault; must be long-tempered and slow to anger; must be able to remain calm when dealing with Guest who may be abusive or threatening; must be able to identify safety hazards, and correct them when necessary.
All clerk/cooks fulfilling these responsibilities will contribute to the accomplishment of the Wescon's retailing mission.
