Weekend Drill Shift

Our busy client in Ida Grove, Iowa is currently looking for an individual to work on our weekend drill shift. This individual will be responsible for

Reading and understanding machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.

Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.

Position and secure workpieces on tables, using bolts, jigs, clamps and shims or other holding devices.

Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures.

Examine completed workpieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces.

Set up and operate machine to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal material.

Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.

Test and adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications, and using gauges and hand tools.

Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades or other fixtures in a rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims and hand tools.

Perform required routine and preventative maintenance on machines.

Position workpieces manually or using hoists, cranes, or forklifts.

Grinding out burrs and sharp edges or buff, using portable grinders, speed lathes, and polishing jacks.

This position will need to have a proven job history with excellent attendance.

The Weekend Shift will run as follows --

Saturday -- 6:00am - 6:00pm
Sunday -- 6:00am - 6:00pm
Monday -- 6:00am - 6:00pm
Tuesday -- 6:00am - 6:00pm
