            Created in April 2011, Melt Shop is an up and coming fast casual restaurant specializing in serving high-end products, including our groundbreaking approach to recreating the world’s most famous sandwich, the grilled cheese. Our main location is based in Midtown Manhattan and has gained widespread notoriety by the press and customers alike, for our one of a kind variations of the grilled cheese, our hand-crafted milkshakes, and irresistible tater tots.

            Melt Shop is a small, yet rapidly expanding company. The work environment at Melt Shop is defined by it’s fast-paced, fun-loving, and entrepreneurial culture that encourages every team member to take initiative and grow with our company by providing feedback about their work experience and offering all that they can to improve both themselves and our restaurant.  We work hard as a team to constantly improve our company and we are looking for people who genuinely enjoy the food service industry and have a passion for providing excellent customer service.

            Melt Shop was designed to be a multiunit concept and is growing at a rapid pace. We currently have two stores open, with a third under construction. Our first two restaurants are currently located in Midtown Manhattan at, 601 Lexington Ave and in the heart of Chelsea on 26th Street. We are currently in need of more great leaders to join our amazing team and take part in the growth of a great original concept. 

Delivery Dispatch

  • The delivery dispatcher is responsible for receiving and recording all delivery orders via phone and/or seamless web. This dispatcher is responsible for putting all delivery orders in the POS system, bagging delivery orders, checking all orders are correct and dispatching delivery personnel. Must ensure all orders are complete and of high quality

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Receive all delivery phone calls during operating hours.
  • Place all individual or small group delivery orders in the POS system
  • Log all customer contact and order information - follow checklist for information to be collected
  • Ensure all delivery orders are correct and bagged properly.
  • Include proper utensils, napkins, and condiments in each bag
  • Organize and dispatch all delivery personnel
  • Ensure all cash transactions are properly accounted for
  • Ensure all deliveries are properly received and communicate to General Manager if any orders are inaccurate.
  • Stock and clean station
  • Ensure all deliveries were properly delivered
  • Ensure customer satisfaction

Experience

  • Must have at leas one year of similar experience

 

Knowledge

  • Customer and Personal Service - knowledge of proper communication, quality standards for service, store policies regarding customer interaction, assessment of customer needs and customer satisfaction
  • Directions - have general knowledge of the metro area and extensive knowledge of the delivery radius 
  • Mathematics - knowledge of simple math and it’s application to receiving and disbursing cash
  • English - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language

 

Skills

  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic to determine best possible route given present circumstances
  • Service Orientation - Actively look for ways to help customers; Do not force or insist customer to pay extra tips
