Created in April 2011, Melt Shop is an up and coming fast casual restaurant specializing in serving high-end products, including our groundbreaking approach to recreating the world’s most famous sandwich, the grilled cheese. Our main location is based in Midtown Manhattan and has gained widespread notoriety by the press and customers alike, for our one of a kind variations of the grilled cheese, our hand-crafted milkshakes, and irresistible tater tots.

Melt Shop is a small, yet rapidly expanding company. The work environment at Melt Shop is defined by its fast-paced, fun-loving, and entrepreneurial culture that encourages every team member to take initiative and grow with our company by providing feedback about their work experience and offering all that they can to improve both themselves and our restaurant. Melt Shop is a multiunit concept and is growing at a rapid pace. We currently have four stores open, with a fifth and sixth under construction. We are currently in need of more great leaders to join our amazing team and take part in the growth of a great original concept.
 

Job Description – Sandwich Prep

• The Sandwich Prep is responsible for receiving all sandwich orders and putting them into production. The employee will be responsible for assembling and cooking all grilled cheese sandwiches received on the ticket printer, cutting and boxing all sandwiches to pass to the quality control inspector, prepping and stocking the sandwich and grill station, keeping time and temperature logs, organizing and cleaning the restaurant, and daily food prep. This position requires someone who is extremely organized, detail oriented, fast paced, and team focused. You must have good communication skills and the ability to read printed tickets. Being presentable at all times is necessary.
   

Experience

• At least 1 years food handling experience, either as a prep cook, line cook or experience with assembling sandwiches in a fast paced environment is preferred
• Experience in making sandwiches in a very fast paced, high-end casual establishment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble and cook all grilled cheese sandwiches received on the ticket printer
• Cut and box sandwiches to pass to the QC
• Prep and stock the sandwich and grill station
• Keeping time and temperature logs
• Organizing and cleaning the restaurant
