We are looking to full a full time dog trainer for our Joppa, MD location
If you love dogs, and are willing to work hard to get to spend your days with them, this job is for you. It is a lot of work and can be high stress at times, but it is also very rewarding. Applicants must be available to work various shifts. Shifts start as early as 4:30 AM or run as late as 9:00 PM. Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, etc. Clean and maintain other areas, as directed, including assisting with cleaning kennels. Attendants must be able to read dog body language and take care of dogs in large free-roaming packs. Must be able to tell when problems between dogs may occur, and keep them from happening in a safe, positive way. Applicant must be able to memorize large numbers of details regarding individual dogs. A great deal of cleaning is required for this job. The job involves a lot of physical work; standing, bending, and moving around, lifting 50lbs or more are all routine tasks. Applicant must be able to follow safety and sanitation policies throughout facility in order to maintain standards of excellence.
Applicant must be able to work on weekends and holidays.

Lots of patience
Proper use of the written English language
Proficient with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Suite
Applicant must be able to perform light office duties such as answering phones, making photocopies, sending faxes, emails, etc.
Public speaking skills are necessary
Knowledge of training tools such as slip, prong, halter, harness, collars, and other training devices preferred, but will train the right candidates.
Conduct training lessons with dogs enrolled in our program, routinely review available client information and previous training logs.
Conduct 1-on-1 play sessions with individual dogs enrolled in such service.
Routinely clean up animal waste.
Handle in our interactive day care groups.
Routinely lift over 50 lbs.
Write daily report cards for dog enrolled in training.
General facility cleaning and maintenance
This is an hourly position starting at $8.00
Previous experience with dogs preferred.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be dependable and reliable.
Must be able to work independently and multi task as well as work as part of a team environment.
Must have great customer service skills.
Must be able to do light typing and able to operate office equipment (ie: copy machine, fax, printer, computer, phones, etc).
Must answer phones, answer customers questions, and schedule appointments.
Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
