Catering Sales Manager

The Catering Sales Manager must have excellent customer service skills and have experience in both social and corporate markets. The individuals must enjoy building client relationships, making onsite presentations to prospective clients and maintaining consistent verbal and written communication with clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  To finalize food, beverage and meeting room set-up requirements.
  •  To upgrade and up sell menus to achieve food and beverage cost.
  •  To be aware of the forecast and budget, and where we need to fill business into open times. Be profit minded.
  •  Familiarization with catering's standard operating procedures and adhering to these guidelines.
  •  To be prompt and accurate in completion of assigned projects.
  •  To establish and maintain customer contact at all functions.
  •  To establish communication with the executive and banquet chef, maitre d=, catering service managers, and catering staff.
  •  To recommend and identify new ideas, methods and markets.
  •  To promote energy conservation and aggressive hospitality programs along with achieving accident prevention goals.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years experience in a sales and catering environment. Prior management experience. Good leadership qualities: 1. motivation 2. ability to function under pressure. Food and sales oriented. Team oriented. Sense of humor. Outstanding organizational, written and oral communications skills are essential together with a poised well developed presentation and communications style. Excellent computer, time management and phone skills along with exceptional attention to detail and follow-up skills. Delphi knowledge and familiarity with Marriott PMS a plus.
