Manufacturing Engineer

Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Responsibilities:

• Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
• Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
• Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
• Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
• Leads Product Transfers to other manufacturing facilities, harmonizing practices

Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span.
• Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to conduct Employee training.
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.
• Quality orientation and attention to detail.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
