Assembler - Saw Operator - Full-time

We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Assembler/Saw Operator in Piedmont, SC.   

Job Description:   Individual will be responsible for assembling fabricated parts at floor stations.  Individual will be required to test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. Identifies units that fail test or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires experience in the field or in related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.

Pay Rate:    $10-$11/hour

Shift/Hours:   Mon – Fri – 1st Shift – 7:00am to 3:30pm  

Job Requirements:

• Be able to read a tape measure and convert metric and English units
• Be able to read and understand assembly drawings and use calipers
• Comply with all safety procedures, postings and protocols.
• Comply with all established ISO 9001 procedures.
• May be required to perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Read blueprints and use micrometers
• Need to understand basic mechanical jargon and have aptitude for mechanical work.

• Operate cold saw, band saw (vertical and horizontal)
• DE burr parts using belt sander, hand sander, pencil grinder and dynafile
• Understand metal cutting of aluminum, steel, brass, copper, cast iron and stainless steel
• Be able to lift up to 30 pounds repetitively
• Be able to stand for 8-10 hours

Physical activities and requirements of this position:

• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
• Walking throughout the day.
• Standing in a place for 30-60 minutes at a time.
• Must have average visual acuity necessary to prepare and/or inspect products, operate machinery and read instructions.
