About this job

A maintenance person is responsible for performing highly diversified duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining facility equipment. A maintenance person is responsible for outside and inside cleanliness of facility.   

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment
  • Performing scheduled maintenance repairs
  • Ensuring that each guest receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledgement of every guest
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and practices, and supporting company loss prevention efforts.
  • Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance
  • Keeping work area neat and clean at all times
  • Performing a variety of plumbing and carpentry tasks
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals to perform required work on equipment
  • Using of variety of hand and power tools
  • Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical/electrical
  • Performing troubleshooting, including diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing and making adjustments to facility equipment
  • Performing regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and complex facilities, including light construction and HVAC
  • Detecting faulty equipment operations and defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Performing daily maintenance inspections of facility
  • Performing monthly maintenance inspections of facility
  • Initiating, receiving and evaluating bids received from outside service companies, when necessary.  GM or Regional manager must approve any and all outside work done
  • Any other duties as assigned by management and or shift supervisors

Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:

  • Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire and safety plans, reporting and/or correcting unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all data, including employee and operations data
  • Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
  • Cooperating and working together with all co-workers, planning and completing job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including exercising appropriate judgment
  • Following up as appropriate with supervisor and/or co-workers regarding complaints, problems, and concerns

Completing requirements for training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress code including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests
  • Ability to read and write to accurately complete all documentation
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run store
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-75 pounds
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business indicates
  • Ability to stand in one area for a period of 8 hours

Maintenance Equipment, including, air compressor, landscaping power tools, drills, hand tools, computers, and power tools.
