The Process Engineer will assume a leadership role providing direction and guidance to converting machinery operators and mechanics in the processes and procedures necessary to efficiently convert raw materials into finished incontinence products at the lowest possible cost. Utilize expertise in statistical process control and lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. Process, project, and day-to-day operational support of the operation to meet objectives.

The primary responsibilities of the position include the following:

· Work within FDA guidelines to carry out all job duties safely and ensure designs, equipment, and processes are developed with safety in mind for operations and maintenance personnel and comply to all FDA standards as applicable.
· Be able to identify complex technical issues to determine root cause using proven statistical methods and tools.
· Plan and carry out continuous improvement activities involving shop floor and office personnel as required. Utilize knowledge of lean concepts (Kaizen, poke yoke, 5S, kanban) to drive process improvement and decrease overall manufacturing cost.
· Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and facilities equipment.
· Manage project budgets ensuring compliance and control.
· Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, writing equipment, material, and service purchase orders.
· Review and recommend contracts and cost estimates.
· Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
· Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and computer-generated reports.
· Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information and training.
· Research and analyze OEM equipment design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
· Specify system components or direct modification of equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
· Recommend and specify raw material packaging and configurations for adult incontinence products
· Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose to root cause, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
· Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions and waste.
· Study industrial processes to determine where and how application of equipment can be made.
· Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
Qualification

Requirements for this position are as follows:

· Must have at least a BS in an engineering or scientific discipline.
· Must have at least 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment in a technical role preferably in high speed converting processes.
· Experience in nonwovens, pulp and paper industry, or diaper/personal care/incontinence manufacturing, packaging design and testing, specifically corrugate and bagging processes, establishment and constructing product bills of material and product costing, raw material specification development and material testing and trials, labor and time studies, and equipment troubleshooting and problem solving.
· Experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: SPC, DOE, FMECA, and Lean manufacturing tools. Experience with Proficy desirable.
