Maintenance Supervisor



An experienced Maintenance Supervisor maintains the safety and productivity of the division vehicles, equipment and/or containers by supervising and coordinating the activities of the shop personnel. The Maintenance Supervisor is the first-line supervisor responsible for directing the workflow within the maintenance or container shop. Why TransTechs:

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervises maintenance shop employees.

  • Participates in hiring, training, scheduling and performance management decisions.
    Reviews work orders, assigns tasks to employees and verifies the quality of work performed.

  • Coaches mechanics on techniques and procedures.

  • Maintains records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed and assures proper data entry into the Computerized Fleet Analysis system (CFA).

  • Schedules work to be performed based on routine preventive maintenance inspections.

  • Procures parts necessary to complete repairs within assigned limits. Refers larger purchases or major repairs to Manager.

  • Conducts employee observations. Discusses findings with employees.

  • Inspects trucks and tools.

  • Maintains a safe and productive work environment.

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Occasionally road tests vehicles to determine repairs needed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualified Candidates For The Position Will Have Met The Following:

  • Required:

    • 1 year of supervisory or lead experience is required.

    • Mechanic School Certification and/or ASE Certification is required.

    • Class A or B CDL without airbrake restriction and any applicable endorsements

    • Must provide a basic set of tools.

    • Must possess a valid clear driver's license.

  • Working Condition:

    • Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
