Summary of Role: The Associate Media Operator will be responsible for encoding, filing, cataloging and quality assurance of a variety of content/media to include recording, downloading, uploading and editing of programming and commercial material in support of on-air operations as well as production and post production activities.

Essential Job Functions:

- Operate all control room equipment associated with a typical live sports master control room

- Monitor and maintain the quality, continuity and availability of multiple networks and distribution channels in a live and nonlive environment.

- Work with broadcast systems incorporating logs/playlists to manage content playout.

- Assist Media Archivist with maintaining all Digital Media Assets

Responsibilities:

- Prepares and maintains spots and program database for air

- Capture/encoding of media

- Assists transmission operations group in the recording and storage of live feeds

- Provides support with Media Asset Management System.

- Monitors video/audio quality and signal availability using waveform monitors, meters and other test and monitoring equipment.

- Content transcoding and correction

- Video server operation

- Perform digital logging duties as needed

Position Requirements:

Knowledge & Experience (Technical Responsibilities)

- Ability to work under pressure.

- Must have knowledge of Baseball, Soccer and Basketball.

- Proficient with computers and MS office software.

- Ability to work any scheduled time, including nights, weekends and holidays to support the 24x7 on-air broadcasts.

- Knowledge of all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; standard and high definition operations, non-linear edit systems, VTRs, server based recording/playback devices and related software applications, server networking and transfer technologies, broadcast routers, intercom panels, etc.

- Advanced understanding of quality assurance techniques and measurement of video, audio and file based media.

Formal Education & Certification

- College diploma or university degree in an associated field or equivalent work experience.

- Experience in broadcast television, cable programmer or network desirable.

- Experience in a live sports broadcast environment desirable.

- SBE certification desirable

Travel Requirements:

- Travel depending on project needs

- On-call availability 24 hours per day, 365 per year.
