Home Instead Senior Care is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team in our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Objective:
The Weekend Staff Coordinator is expected to perform a variety of duties in the coordination of scheduling service for clients and communicating schedules to CAREGivers. Additional duties are clerical in nature, including filing.  This position is Friday 12pm – Monday 12pm and is on-call after hours.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner
  • In cooperation with Weekday Staff Coordinator, coordinate a complete client service schedule, ensuring every requested shift has appropriate coverage
  • Read log notes daily to maintain current knowledge on all clients and CAREGivers
  • Coordinate CAREGiver schedules on a daily basis, including reassigning shifts of sick CAREGivers and covering for vacation and time off requests
  • Document all incoming & outgoing phone calls to maintain accurate client and CAREGiver records
  • Track & record CAREGiver orientation to client Plans of Care, then transfer data to client files
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with owner, colleagues and CAREGivers
Secondary Responsibilities:
 
  • Participate in CAREGiver meetings
  • Conduct client/CAREGiver introductions as needed
  • Enter timecard records, as assigned
  • Read, monitor, and file Client Activity Logs
  • Perform any and all other functions and responsibilities deemed necessary
Education/Experience Requirements:
 
  • High school graduation or the equivalent
  • One year of related business experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
On-Call Designee - Supervisory Responsibilities:
 
  • On Call Designee – as such will be responsible for supervising caregiver and client schedule after hours and on weekends. All incoming calls after hours must be handled in a friendly & professional manner, and matters that need immediate attention must be followed up on and handled appropriately.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
  • This position must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • This position must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly and yearly work
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with management, colleagues, clients and CAREGivers
  • Ability to sit at a desk and listen effectively for long periods of time on the telephone. Must be patient and congenial on the telephone
  • Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel & the ability to easily learn new software
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional office setting
  • Knowledge of the senior care industry
This position will work in our office 12pm-5pm on Fridays, 8am-2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and 8am-12pm on Mondays, in addition to after-hours On-Call responsibilities. Compensation to be discussed.
