Housekeeping Inspector - On Call (Hospitality Students Only) - Buena Vista Palace

Housekeeping Floor Supervisor is responsible for supervising, directing and assuring the completion of all housekeeping tasks assigned to room attendants and housepersons and maintaining IHR's high standards of cleanliness.

Education & Experience:


High School diploma or equivalent required.

College course work in related field helpful.

Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.



Physical requirements:


Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Ability to stand during entire shift.

Essential:


Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Buena Vista Palace standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.

Comply at all times with Buena Vista Palace standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

Ensure employees are at all times being attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.

Inspect all rooms assigned to you during your shift to ensure that standards are being met and maintained.

Notify The Housekeeping office of any deficiencies found in the room. Re-inspect the room to ensure that the Room Attendant returned to correct the deficiency, when applicable.

Assist in the inspection process of V.I.P rooms and report their availability to the Housekeeping office, according to hotel standards.

Maintain key control.

Assist with inspecting discrepant rooms when assigned. Physically check the room to determine status.

Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the standards.

Carry a radio to maintain contact with the Housekeeping office.

Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings. Report Deficiencies to the office.

Assist with the inspection when assigned and report on progress of all out-of-order rooms.

Call in all repairs and maintenance items to put into HOTSOS. Assist in spot checking completion.

Assist with the inspection of regular maintenance and cleaning projects in the guest room.

Assist in the monitoring of all V.I.P.'s, special guests and requests.
