Job Summary

UPS seeks applicants for the position of intern in its Corporate Public Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. The UPS Public Affairs Office is responsible for handling governmental affairs issues at the international, federal, and state levels. These issues include, but are not limited to: aviation, energy, healthcare, international trade, labor, security, and transportation. UPS is the world's largest package delivery company and currently serves more than 220 countries and territories.

Other Duties

  • Assist in research and support to management staff
  • Draft position papers, speeches, and testimony on legislation affecting UPS
  • Track and monitor legislation bills that may affect UPS
  • Event planning for various meetings and corporate visits
  • Attend hearings, briefings, and negotiations that may affect UPS
  • Assemble, disseminate newspapers, and other publications on issues that may affect UPS
  • Organize briefing materials and provide general support as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite to include - Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Available to work at least 35-40 hours per week
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program of study as a Junior/Senior or graduate degree program in Public Policy, Law, Government Affairs or related discipline
