UnitedHealthcare Military and Veterans is currently seeking a Clinical Quality Study Lead.This position develops clinical quality studies (CQS), clinical quality improvement initiatives, (QIIs), Clinical quality improvement activities (QIAs) and retrospective focused reviews.  Assist CQM staff and other staff with clinical quality studies, focused reviews, and quality improvement activities. 


 


***This is a office position located at 2222 W. Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix, AZ***


 
Responsibilities:




  • Annually, develops at a minimum two new research initiatives and/ or clinical quality studies or activities


  • Trains Quality Management staff in research activities


  • Maintains confidentiality and non-discoverability of all activities


  • Collaborates with departments to identify, develop and evaluate programs which improve the delivery of clinical quality health care


  • Creates, reviews, and revises QM study plans


  • Develops study policies, and procedures


  • Participates in regional quality studies including obtaining baseline data, interventions, monitoring, re-measurement, and reporting


  • Contributes information to newsletters based on results of quality improvement activities


  • Assist with UnitedHealthcare Military & Veterans staff with accreditation activities


  • Assist in the development of UnitedHealthcare Military & Veterans Patient Safety Initiatives


  • Refer cases to Program Integrity, Case Management, Disease Management


  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  
• RN with current, active license without restriction in required state(s) required
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required
• 5+ years clinical experience required
• 1+ years experience conducting research or studies required
• Comprehensive knowledge of research methodology, HEDIS measures, benchmarking
• Knowledge /experience with statistical  software, SAS/SPSS
• Strong computer skills with emphasis on  Excel, Access, and  PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
• Master's degree in Nursing, Administration or Business  preferred
• Two years Quality Management experience preferred
• CPHQ highly preferred
• United States Citizenship
• Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86.
    


 


As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or "NAC").  Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.  NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
